Bone woke up around 10:00 AM with the windows open and an uncharacteristically (for Louisiana) cool breeze blew into Bones Room. Starved Bone thought to snatch some pictures of the Area and grab a good old fashioned, Southern Breakfast !

Bone groggily snapped a few pictures and the had an absolutely awesome southern breakfast at a college joint called Manny's on Jefferson Avenue in downtown Lafayette. As it hit Noon, Bone realized he had a 3 hour drive ahead and a 4:30 flight so he started his boogie back.

Checking out the Atchafalaya Swamp

When you think of Louisiana  Atchafalaya Swamp, is the largest swamp in the United States. Located in south central Louisiana, it is a combination of wetlands and river delta area where the Atchafalaya River and the Gulf of Mexico converge. The Atchafalaya is unique among basins because it has a growing delta system (see illustration) with nearly stable wetlands. Unfortunately, Bone didn't have time to check it out, just snap some pictures.

After snapping some pictures, Bone made it back to N.O. just in time to make his flight.
