By 2022 Mike and Bone were both over Covid and hungry! So one fine, cold Saturday the Boys ventured from GR to Chi-Town to sample one of the thousands of famous Chicago Dog stands, Lulu's !

United Center Favorite!

Family owned Lulu’s Hot Dogs has been serving a variety of menu specialties including Vienna All-Beef sausages since 1968, when Don Grieco Sr. started this little food emporium on the near southwest side. The neighborhood is often called either University Village, Medical District, or the Tri-Taylor area. Whichever name you prefer to use, Don Jr. and brother Joe have been operating Lulu’s for the past half century.

The Dog Wrangler on Duty

Think about it, Lulu's began around the same time that the Vietnam conflict was in high gear!  With the Veteran’s Administration and Hospital virtually across the street, Lulu’s has become the community “go-to” place for many men and women who have served our country. Lulu’s is a local hangout with lots of local kitcsh from the United Center, so lotsa Bulls and Blackhawks stuff!

"C'Mon Bone, I'm hungry!

Mike and Bone determining the Chicago Dogs were Lu Lu's!

Despite the fact it is on Route 66 and lots of nostalgia, the Chicago Dogs ,, , , , , ,  sucked! The bun wasn't poppy seed, the trimming were bleh, and the packaging was not good.

Both Mike and Bone were so underwhelmed that they drove another 20 minutes west to get a couple of SuperDawgs on Milwaukee Avenue!
