Day 1: Tunisian Tour Start

The Boys strategically set off on a Saturday so they could take advantage of a head start on Sunday, however after a 8 hour flight to Paris in first class, the Boys landed somewhat refreshed, still a little addled. After a 40 minute wander through DeGaulle they found their connector to Tunis, and plopped their stiff backs down for a long lay over for Tunis!

Taking off Mike and Bone dozed and head bobbed for the 2.5 hour flight, landing late in the day in steamy Tunis, Tunisia!

 

Arriving in Tunis!

Being the first time in Tunisia, the Boys weren't sure what to expect. Getting the Hertz rental car was an adventure in its self! Rather than walk up to a care rental desk at the airport. Bone received a text when they landed to call a number for a pickup. (?) Bone called the mysterious phone once they cleared Customs, and spoke to someone in VERY broken English, "Find to Coffee Shop" someone will pick you!" 

After a 10 minutes milling around wondering what the heck was going on, a woman walked up with a very little sign with Bone's name and led the Boys to get into an unmarked Van in the 115 degree heat! After a tense 10 minute ride where the Boys weren't really sure where they were going, they ended up in a Corporate Park and to their relief, they saw the sign that allowed their sphincters to relax: HERTZ!  Getting their car was easy and as the sun started to set they headed to down to Carthage, staying in a very cool hotel, Dar Alyssa!

Pulling in to the Hotel Mike and Bone noticed the that the Hotel overlooked a beach on the Gulf of Tunis, and also a garbage dump! The Hotel was definitely in a resort area in a 3rd world way! Amidst the beauty was garbage and plastic bottles everywhere! Finding their way into the Hotel the demure hostess Sheyanne, local Tunesian college student gave the Boys the keys to their Hotel. The Hotel Room was as warm as outside, so Mike and Bone cranked the air and headed out to find some sustenance!

The Boys wander down to check out the Beach, which was crowded with Families even as the Sun was down, as they looked for a local restaurant. After wandering around for a while they came across an un-air conditioned restaurant. With out a lot of options, Mike and Bone ordered a couple of pizzas, chowed them in the sultry air and hit the sack in the still sweaty Hotel room!
